I see you found my blog, well, my third blog to be exact. I used to be a prolific blogger posting about my daily life as an expatriate living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Now I am an IT Drupal Web Application Developer and Red Hat Linux System Administrator for a government agency in Washington State.

I named this blog, the second iteration, Kevin Matsunaga. Recently, I decided I wanted a blog name that focuses on what I actually do. Hence, RockyPod.

Rocky for Rocky Linux, one of the derivatives of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. I used Pod since my current server runs Podman pods with Rocky Linux. This Ghost blog is running inside a pod containing Ghost and MariaDB.

Nezu and Toki (RockyPod)

You will also see me use RockyPod for the two dual you see in the header image, Nezu (short for Nezumi or mouse in Japanese), and Toki (the chicken). Google Gemini generated both. I plan to add my drawings of both, as well as an excuse to learn to draw.

Purpose of RockyPod

Yes, I digressed. RockyPod will focus on the following topics:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Rocky Linux
  • Podman, Pod, and Containers
  • Decoupled Drupal Development
  • SvelteKit
  • Dioxus
  • Rust
  • Fitness Wearables
  • AI Model Fine-tuning
  • Trips to Japan, Kazakhstan, and Vietnam

I want to get back to my daily blogging as I had in the past.
